SFU’s Indigenous Council Office is hosting two screenings of B.C.-based award-winning documentaries: Sugarcane and Tea Creek. Sugarcane recognizes the legacy of the Canadian Indian Residential School System and its impact on Indigenous people and their communities. This debut feature documentary from Julian Brave NoiseCat and Emily Kassie shares the groundbreaking research and investigation that helped uncover the stories of survivors of St. Joseph’s Mission near Williams Lake. This screening will be held at the Leslie & Gordon Diamond Family Auditorium, SFU Burnaby Campus on September 24th from 2-4pm.
